Come and listen to the Okinawan folktales.
The stories will be told in Okinawan, mix of Okinawan and Japanese or only in Japanese.

Okinawa is a teasure box of folktales.

Okinawa Folktale Archive Center has been conducting a research about folktales in Okinawa Island, Miyako Islands, Yaeyama Iskands and Yonaguni since 1973 and archived 76,000 folktales.

The Center organises various activities in order to pass down these stories which we heard from elders to the children in Okinawa.
